Nestled in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, Brenda’s easily has one of the best brunches in the city. But, you’ve got to be out of your mind if you don’t think it’s the best. If you can stomach the wait, then you’re in for the greatest ride your taste buds have ever experienced. Trust me, that 90 minute wait is no joke.
Brenda’s is the type of restaurant where you’re either all in or you’re out. There’s no room for calorie counting or gluten-free requests. Because soul food. The menu ranges from fried chicken benedict, pulled pork benedict, molasses ham, and catfish. A heaping serving of grits or hash can be your side also. And the beignets. My god. They are insanely large for beignets. If your stomach doesn’t explode after your entree, then the beignets will do the trick. The beignets can only be ordered in sets of 4 so you might as well try them all. For me, it’s a tie between the crawfish beignet and Ghirardelli chocolate beignet.
